How To Identify Common Stress Symptoms

Stress symptoms come in many forms, both physical and emotional. There are also varying degrees of stress and the severity of the associated symptoms will vary depending on the person and the situation.

Knowing what symptoms to watch for is important, particularly since some of them are not always stress related so they may get overlooked.

Physical signs and symptoms of stress can include any of the following:

Some of these symptoms can be brought on by other conditions, but if a person suffers from a combination of them or suffers from them regularly, it is quite likely due to stress.

Emotional indications of stress can include the following:

Again, these symptoms can be caused by other things but a combination of them, or a chronic problem with them is often an indication of stress.

If left untreated, stress can become more and more serious. The symptoms can become worse, leading to further increases in stress and creating a vicious cycle. Other problems such as anxiety or panic disorders can also develop.

A person who is suffering from stress can also show changes in their behavior. They may be less able to control their anger and have outbursts over small things. They may also withdraw from social situations and develop difficulties in their relationships.

Their work can also suffer due to lack of concentration and problems dealing with coworkers or other business relationships.

While a certain amount of stress is understandable for anyone, they should be able to overcome it and get past it once the event or situation that caused it has passed.

If unable to do so, the best thing to do is to visit a doctor. They will be able to properly diagnose the problem and suggest the proper form of stress relief.
